Meet Paul

Paul Falcone is a bestselling author, a top-rated presenter, and has served as a senior HR executive at companies like Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, and Time Warner.  His bestselling books and keynote presentations focus on effective hiring, performance management, and leadership development.

Paul possesses an extensive depth and breadth of critically important and integrated skills related to organizational and individual effectiveness.  His latest book, 75 Ways for Managers to Hire, Develop, and Keep Great Employees (AMACOM 2016), focuses on key employee retention and offers best practices that will enable the entire organization to operate more effectively by transforming front-line managers into exceptional—and highly promotable—leaders. From effective hiring to leadership offense and leadership defense strategies, this is what every senior HR executive wished their frontline managers knew about effective leadership.  If you’re looking to align your company’s VPs, directors, and managers, this is your go-to resource to get everyone on the same page in terms of leadership, team building  and communication.  Further, if you’re promoting individual contributors into first-time supervisory roles, this book will provide a rich variety of background information and scripts that will help them master their new responsibilities and establish their leadership brand.
Paul has likewise authored a number of bestselling AMACOM- and SHRM-published books, including 96 Great Interview Questions to Ask Before You Hire, 101 Tough Conversations to Have with Employees, 101 Sample Write-Ups for Documenting Employee Performance Problems, and 2600 Phrases for Effective Performance Reviews—all with the intention of saving time, building leadership self-confidence, and shielding your company from unwanted employment-related liability that can sometimes stem from common management practices.

Paul’s bestselling books focus on what he’s passionate about—strengthening the muscle of a company’s senior and frontline leadership teams.  His leadership, employee relations, and communication strategies have been recognized by the American Management Association, SHRM, and magazines like Forbes, FortuneInc., and the Harvard Business Review as insightful, creative, and innovative. Above all, Paul teaches leadership wisdom.  His books and articles focus on motivational leadership that holds team members to the highest standards of performance and accountability.  A long-term contributor to HR Magazine, SHRM Online, and AMA Playbook and a faculty member in UCLA Extension’s School of Business and Management, Paul is consistently ranked as a top presenter who makes learning engaging, practical, and effective.

Paul holds his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UCLA, and he has senior level HR leadership experience in entertainment, healthcare/bio-pharma, and financial services, including in non-profit, union, and international environments.
